I have officially finished my Fall Decor. I'm satisfied with how everything looks in the house and I hope it will seem festive when the family arrives for Thanksgiving. In the back of my mind, I know that Christmas is next. I've been shopping for one year for Christmas decor. Not that I LACK in Christmas decor...it's just been the same thing year after year since my older kids were Hannah's age. YIKES! Yes...I have admitted it. My mantle looks the same Every. Single. Year. I'm changing things up this year and I began preparing for the change up earlier this year. I've decided that the mantle will be covered with beautiful Santa's. Do you know how many Santa's sit in Goodwill and Thrift Stores that have been long forgotten by their owners? Thank goodness I was around to save them! Heh. I have 2 containers in the top of our guest closet that I have been carefully wrapping and storing the Santa's I've found. They are all different sizes, color and they represent many different Santa's from around the world. I can't wait to put them all together with the Santa's I already have. I began unwrapping these Santa's and I had really forgotten what exactly I had. I'm going to share a couple with you this morning.
Here's the container with everything wrapped to ensure no Santa's were broken on my watch!
Filled with goodies!!! Take a peek....
These beautiful fruit rings were found at a rummage sale for $.25 each! I am visualizing big red candles in the center of these!
This is the first Santa I unwrapped. I had totally forgotten about him!
Lovely, huh? I have so many more to unwrap and I can't wait to share them with you. I think the mantle is going to generate a lot of conversation this year.
Here's a pic I found of my mantle from years ago....the only difference is the amount of stockings that are hung now....same old, same old!
Okay...gotta run...plenty more Santa's to unwrap!
Brave woman to think about Christmas right now. I still have to finish decorating for Thanksgiving. At least I've almost finished my shopping. I'd like to wrap it all next week. I can't wait to see your Santa collection. Isn't it fun to start a new collection?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing how you change up your mantel and your Santa collection.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your Santas. I have a large Santa collection.
ReplyDeleteLove your Santa collection. I'm really going to try to hold Christmas decor until right after Thanksgiving, but it will be tough. I do plan on having as many things staged in the guest room as is possible. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your mantel.
