I'm clearly on a roll. I can actually RELAX today. I was in high gear yesterday and received oh so many glares from hub all day long. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the house yesterday, until I was a puddle of sweat. I had painting on my mind for the afternoon. Just in time for hub when he came home from work. He did a little dance about it being his afternoon off...I danced back...and then I started the painting project of the desk and he finally came on board...R-E-L-U-C-T-A-N-T-L-Y. I don't ask for much (ahem) and to spend the afternoon TOGETHER mind you....painting, was not much to ask. Right?
Here's how it all went.... Remember this Goodwill find from a previous post?
This is how it began yesterday....
You can tell how happy he is in this pic, right? Ahem. Well...this was the first thought...black paint on just the top of the desk and the drawers....but I didn't like it. So.......we had to wait FOREVER for the white paint to dry to fix this little mistake...
Okay...that's looking better. The top part just had to painted. Plus...I want to just say now that I was helping. Not one person bothered to take MY picture while I was painting. Just saying...
See these drawers? Hannah helped paint them black. We had to do a fast Painting 101 class for her. We finally let her move onto the larger project of the desk and she was a lot of help.
Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!! I loved the end result. Now...to wait for it to dry....
Sorry about the quality of the pic...but it was last night...I'm sure a daytime pic would be much better, but I couldn't wait to show you! I LOVE IT. I think Hannah will be more than happy to sit here and do her homework in the afternoons. The only thing I need now is a chair...Goodwill here I come!!
So...we were done. Seriously? Done. Ummm...with all that paint left?! I don't think so....I had another project in mind. I was on a roll...there was just ONE more piece of furniture that needed a makeover in my humble opinion....
This is where my computer sits behind the couch. It's a fairly large piece and I had some ideas about what I wanted to do with this. I can't wait to show you the end result. Right now...it's sitting in the middle of my family room waiting to be moved back behind the couch in its proper place. Also....I have to tell you that hub has some amazing artistic abilities. I sat him down at the kitchen table with the newest addition to the kitchen, my pig. She was just to blah for me....I can't wait to show you what he did with a pencil and a few cigarette ashes...oh my, she looks alive now!!
It's Sunday and hope all of you have a blessed day. I'd like to leave you with an amazing link I found yesterday....
